Producing more snake anti-venom: Snake anti-venom to be produced more in next years

In Myanmar, the majority of people make a living from agriculture. So, the people should be aware of the risks of snakes that may be encountered in agricultural activities. The danger of snakes in agriculture is common in Myanmar. So, Myanmar Pharmaceutical Industry Enterprise tries to produce more snake anti-venom in the country.

The old snake anti-venom freeze dryer machine can produce from 10 0,000 to 120,000 doses in a year and the enterprise will produce over 200,000 doses starting from this year with their seamless efforts.

According to the Managing Director Myanmar Pharmaceutical Industry Enterprise Dr Aung Khaing, the country is agricultural country and has a large number of rural people so the country has high demand for snake anti-venom.

On August 14th, the new Snake anti-venom machine was installed. As a result, over 200,000 doses can be produced starting from this year. To make the snake anti-venom, snakes are collected by buying from all parts of the country.

The horses have been immunized with venom, snake anti-venom was produced from the serum obtained from horses. As the Myanmar Pharmaceutical Industry Enterprise hopes to meet the country's demand in the coming years with the installation of new snake anti-venom freeze dryer machine.
