Agricultural sector: Bago Region CM conducted field survey

Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, along with Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Tin Htut conducted field survey for the upgrading of agriculture and livestock breeding in Shwedaung Township on Monday.

And, the Chief Minister and party visited Agriculture, Livestock and Industrial High School of Shwedaung Township, met with the teachers, gave instructions and fulfilled the needs. Then, he provided 1million kyats of cash assistance to the teachers and viewed around the peaceful learning of students.

Then, the Chief Minister coordinated the needs on dissemination of research and technology, correct cultivation methods, manufacturing of cost-effective rice-transplanting machine, and the producing and utilizing natural fertilizers locally.

Then, the Chief Minister oversaw the fertilizer spreading in the model plots of Gyokone village of Shwedaung Township and gave instructions to officials on provision of pedigree seeds of rice, widely utilizing manual rice transplanter and expansion of cattle breeding.

Gyokone village could cultivate only single crop of monsoon paddy in previous year. Aiming to provide irrigation water, 3 sluice gates were constructed with the assistance of Bago Region Government. At present, monsoon paddy, green gram and summer sesame have been cultivated for triple crops, it’s learnt.
