Efforts for Transportation: Bailey bridge on Myawaddy-Kawkareik section

A landslide caused by torrential rain brought damage to part of the Myawaddy- Kawkareik section on the Asian Highway in Kayin State on 7 August.

To facilitate the movement of vehicles, construction of a temporary Bailey bridge at the spot began on the 10th of August. The construction of the temporary Bailey bridge has now been 70 percent completed.

In addition to the bridge construction, construction of a temporary earthen road on the south and north sides of the damaged part of the road’s section has been completed which is 300 feet long and 30 feet wide.
