Rural Development: Union Minister meets trainees, makes inspections

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe visited the Department of Rural Development to oversee the Emerald Green Project Implementation Refresher Course. This course is designed to ensure that the project implementation is in accordance with the procedure, to use the Mobile Financial Payment System and to master the practical applications of the MIS system.

There, the Union Minister stressed that the Department of Rural Development has to manage transport roads, water and electricity access, the Emerald Green Project, the Village Development Project, the Smart Village Implementation Project and the Rural Economic Development Fund Establishment Project in rural areas.

And, the Union Minister visited a store for employee welfare selling basic foodstuffs at fair prices and gave necessary instructions. The Union Minister also visited the Department of Rural Road Development and met with officials and staff attending a Geographic Information System (GIS) Dashboard Implementation Workshop on Rural Roads.

There, he heard reports, stressed the benefits of the GIS and called on concerned officials and staff to continuously use the system, pledging to provide aid. There, the Union Minister also inspected a site where a store for employee welfare will be opened and gave necessary instructions. He also inspected the water access implementation project in Tha Byay San Village in Pobbathiri Township. Also, the Union Minister inspected an irrigation system in a farm in the area.
