Russia Trip: SAC Member Dy Prime Minister arrives back in Yangon

A delegation led by Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defence Admiral Tin Aung San arrived back in Yangon after attending the ARMY-2023 forum and the XI Moscow Conference on International Security in Moscow Region of the Russian Federation.

The delegation was welcomed by the Myanmar and Russian officials at the Yangon International Airport on Monday evening. During the trip, on the 14th of August, the delegation attended the opening of the Myanmar Fighters Monument at Patriot Park in Kubinka, commemorating Myanmar's participation in World War II.

Also, at the meeting hall of the Park, the Union Minister and the Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Colonel General Alexander Fomin exchanged views on cooperation, bilateral relations and scholarship programme.

And, the delegation attended the opening of the ARMY-2023 forum, viewed the displayed items and held discussions with officials from Aquarius IT and BSVT companies.

On the 15th of August, the Union Minister attended the opening of the XI Moscow Conference on International Security. There, in the discussion on "Security in the Asia-Pacific Region”, in his video message, Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that the unity of ASEAN countries is important for the Asia-Pacific Region security.

The Senior General also stressed the Asia Pacific region trade and security issues and the Myanmar's political development situation.

On the 16th of August, the Union Minister attended the ARMY-2023 forum, viewed the displayed military vehicles/weapons and facilities at the Patriot Park and held discussions with officials from the PJSC (UAC), Technodinamika and Rosobornexport.

Later the day, he visited the military attaché office, held talks with officials and their family members, explained the current state developments and presented gifts.

On the 17th of August, the delegation paid homage to the Shwezigon Ceti replica Pagoda at the world cultural city in Kaluga Region, viewed round the displayed items and visited the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces.

On the 18th of August, the Union Minister visited the Myanmar monastery in Moscow and offered offertories to members of the Sangha.
