








The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation is making efforts for development of agricultural produces in Bago Region (West).
During an inspection at the Nat Hmaw River Water Pumping station in Pyay District on August 12th, Deputy Minister U Bo Bo Kyaw discussed plans to expand irrigated areas and implement silting processes in the major feeding canal.
Then, the Deputy Minister visited the High School for Industrial Agriculture and Livestock Breeding (Shwe Taung), and met with the Principal and teachers to discuss on academic matters. He also made inspection at hybrid sunflowers, seasonal crops, perennial trees, and vegetable plantations—cultivated by the students.
The Deputy Minister also inspected the Innma retaining dam in Thaekone Township, Kyakhat Wayone Sluice Gate in Nattalin Township, and Gway Pin Kone Sluice Gate in Zeekone Township for expanding cultivation through the utilization of irrigated water from these facilities.
On arrival at Thayawady District, the Deputy Minister surveyed the proposed site for a 100-acre fish breeding farm near Htanpinkone Village. He also met with the students at the Institute of Agriculture (Thayawady), and encouraged their dedication to excel in respective subjects—highlighting their potential contribution to the agricultural and livestock sector's developmental efforts.
On his way to Bago Township, the Deputy Minister inspected the embankment's durability at the Myo Oo Kin Bridge. In the evening, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister and the ministry staff at the Irrigation Technology Center.
Discussions centered on fostering harmonious cooperation among departments, organizations, and water user groups to ensure regional food sufficiency and increased production of agriculture-based products.
