Demonstration of paddy cultivation: NPT Council Chairman attends the event

Demonstration of monsoon paddy cultivation with transplanter was held at Thapyaetan village in Pobbathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union territory on Thursday with the attendance of Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U ThanTun Oo, Council members and farmers.

At the event, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council said that it is necessary to transform into mechanized farming from the conventional way and machine-tractor stations in townships provide assistance to the farmers for ploughing, seedling, cultivating and harvesting with machine.

Farmers will achieve the target by using quality paddy seeds, systematic ways, effective use water and fully utilizing the inputs. Then, officials from Nay Pyi Taw Agricultural department and Agriculture Mechanized department clarified monsoon paddy cultivation, and cultivating variety of crops by using machines for 2023-2024 FY.

And departmental officials made sector-wise reports. Afterwards, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, officials and farmers observed demonstration of monsoon paddy cultivation used by paddy transplanter. Next, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and officials met with Water User Group (WUG) at the briefing hall of Yezin dam in Zeyarthiri Township.

During the meeting, Director of Irrigation and Water Utilization Department and officials reported salient points of Yezin dam, flowing water into the dam, water storing and distribution on which Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman gave necessary instructions.

They then inspected the status of water flowing into the dam. In the afternoon, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and party inspected progress of the landscaping on the circular road of MingalarKan No-2 where he instructed officials measures for cleaning up in the lake.
