SAC Chairman’s Meeting: Meeting with CMs and Division/Zones Chairmen

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held meeting with the Region and State Chief Ministers and Chairmen of Self-Administered Division and Zones at the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

At the meeting, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister said that the meeting was held to discuss matters to be undertaken for the State economic development during further extended period according to the country situation and the matters that should be done.

The responsibility of a government is to carry out for the nation development and to implement the practical businesses. During assuming the state duties, the political conflicts caused by political discords could be solved only in line with the law and the progress of the state economy has delayed due to the political situations.

They have encouraged and supported education promotion since taking the duty and it needs to produce versatile youths. The students, parents and teachers but also administrative officials are urged to cooperate for students learning peacefully and safely in all centers that are undertaking academic matters as well as monastic schools and other basic education high schools and advanced education schools.

There were weaknesses in the students’ education due to needs in management and education system in the past. The teachers need to teach the students to be literate and to train them to have right thinking and mindfulness.

The students who completed agriculture, livestock, technical and industrial courses which have been extended at the basic education high schools in 50 districts could perform for the improvement of their lives after learning and the human resources that can support the productivity of the nation can be produced.

In regard with manufacturing, the country's GDP is less compared to ASEAN countries. As the country mainly carries out agriculture and livestock, all regions and states need to make efforts for manufacturing processes based on agriculture and breeding tasks.

He stressed on effective use of cultivated land in carry out agriculture and livestock, creating job opportunities for the people, improving socio-economic life, efforts for development of agriculture, fish, meat and manufacturing sectors in respective regions, systematic running of the state-owned business enterprises, supervision on the achievement of the tasks by relevant ministries and operating the state-owned factories and workshops by the region and state governments. Regarding the MSME sector, the enterprises should mainly use the local raw materials.

If this sector develops, local manufacturing, employment opportunities and the socio-economic life of the region will improve. Tourism is also a zero-emissions industry, bringing local and foreign travelers, so it is necessary to encourage and promote the tourism sector.

All must make efforts to ensure that the citizens can work and live safely and peacefully even within the country under the shadow of the state. To promote the state economy, the Senior General urged all chief ministers to make practical efforts to bring about the interests of the state and the people.

And, attendees reported on matters including agriculture, livestock, MSME and education sectors, regional development works, efforts for regional stability, import of agricultural inputs, state economic promotion works, investment loans, works to improve rubber and palm oil production and agricultural research.

In his response, the Senior General stressed the importance of illegal trade eradication. All need to work to reduce the country's poverty rate. All chief ministers need to work together to promote the country's economy at a rapid pace.
