Environmental Conservation :MoNREC holds 2023 monsoon tree planting ceremony

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmenral Conservation organized the 2023 monsoon tree planting ceremony in Lewei Township area of Dekkhina District in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday morning.

The ceremony took place with the attandance of Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi, Deputy Ministers, Parmanent Secretary, other concerned officials and students from the University of Forestry and Environmental Science.

After planting white teak by the Union Minister at the designated spot, Deputy Ministers planted white teak trees at the respective spots. And, the Union Minister viewed around the trees planting process. 1,600 saplings of white teak were planted during this monsoon tree planting ceremony.

It’s reported that 20 acreas have also been established during this rainy seson for growing the fastest growing tree species including tissue culture eucalyptus and eucalyptus trees.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation has already planted over 24 million species of saplings in all regions and states during this monsoon season.
