SAC Chairman’s Meeting: PM meets Union Level Persons and Officials

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held meeting with union level persons and officials from Union Ministries at the SAC Chairman office in Nay Pyi Taw.

Vice Chairman of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, SAC members, Union level persons, Union Ministers, Region and State Chief Ministers, Tatmadaw high ranking officers, deputy ministers, Chairmen of Self-Administered Division and Zones and departmental heads joined the meeting.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the Road Map and objectives that have been newly adopted will be issued and the two political goals of the government is to strengthen a genuine discipline-flourishing multi-party democratic system and to build a Union based on democracy and federalism.

The two national objectives are prosperity of the nation and food sufficiency. A government needs to prioritize on ensuring peace and stability of the country, better transportation and communication access, human resource development for promoting education sector and providing full health care services for the people to be healthy and long life, availability of sufficient electricity for the improvement of people’s socio-economic life.

The Prime Minister clarified 9 objectives that have been newly adopted by the SAC.

In regard with the 1st point of political objective, “To strengthen a genuine-discipline flourishing multiparty democratic system and build a Union based on democracy and federalism”, he said that as many ethnic people live in respective regions and states, the federal system must be based on the region not on the race.

The main obstacle to building a Union based on democracy and federalism is the armed conflicts. Regarding the rights of the ethnic groups, it needs to perform in accordance with the current situation of the country. He said that as the NCA agreement, priority must be taken to achieve eternal peace.

In the third point of political objective, “To emphasize ensuring peace and stability and fully Rule of Law across the Union for the safety and socio-economic life of the people”, the Prime Minister pointed out that legal organizations must carry out for legal affairs and Myanmar Police Force of the Ministry of Home Affairs, General Administrative and Judiciary pillars play a vital role in carrying out law enforcement. 

The 1st point of economic objective, “To develop agriculture and livestock through modern techniques that covers the entire people for the prosperity of the nation and food sufficiency and strengthen all-round development in other sectors of the economy, he clarified that 70 percent of the nation population is rural people and the majority do agriculture and livestock. 

In doing so, the agriculture and livestock industries need to be systematic and it needs to apply all cultivated lands effectively. The government needs to arrange for the effective use of agricultural lands. In regard with land use, it must undertake correctly in accordance with the law and to maintain strictly in accordance with the provisions.

In regard with agriculture and livestock, it needs to carry out boosting productivities and making researches. Through modern techniques for development of agriculture and livestock breeding, measures will be undertaken for enhancing other manufacturing tasks.

He also clarified on the economic objectives about encouraging to MSME enterprises based on agriculture and livestock and sufficient production of basic foodstuff and consumer goods that are necessary in local and producing value-added products to reduce import good volume and the use of foreign currencies and efforts for local edible oil sufficiency while encouraging oil crop cultivation to meet high yield. 

He also explained about the social objectives on implementation of a comprehensive education system for all, human resource development, uplifting heath and sports sectors for fitness of the entire people, promoting youth sector for the nation’s development work programs, measures for development of education sector of the youths.

He called on officials from the Union Ministries attending the meeting to perform the tasks to have achievement in line with procedures, rules and regulations of their ministries. The government departments are the ones serving the public so that the staffs also have good management and they need to be dutiful and serve for the interests of the people.

The Prime Minister reiterated that in performing the state responsibilities, they could overcome difficulties and crises with united strength. However, there are still sanctions economically and politically on the nation.

If they successfully carry out manufacturing activities in the country, they can overcome what kind of difficulties and crises. He called for civil servants to take their duties responsibly for the interests of the state rather than for an individual.
