








The gala ceremonies on consecration of Maravijaya Buddha image which is the World’s Highest Sitting Marble Buddha image built at the Buddha Park in Dekkhina Thiri Township of Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw, hoisting golden umbrellas atop the Marble Plaque Chamber cetis and libation ceremony were held on a grand manner on 1st August, the full moon day of 2nd Waso.
People have been allowed to pay obeisance to Maravijiya Buddha image in the Buddha Park and pagodas as well as to observe religious buildings in the pagoda compound starting Tuesday morning.
Officials conducted security checks at the arches of the pagoda to be able to pay homage to the Buddha Image safety and systematically transported monks, disabled and elders to the pagoda platform for smooth transportation access.
The pilgrims and visitors paid obeisance to Maravijaya Buddha Image and listened to the religious sermons and religious associations recited religious verses. 24 repositories around the platform built on the Maravijaya Buddha image are constructed with marble stones and the pilgrims can pay homage to the Buddha with peace of mind in the repositories.
720 marble plaque chamber cetis where the stone inscriptions are carved on the marble slabs in Pali and Romanize Languages by using modern machines are constructed at the façade of the Buddha Image and visitors can study Pitaka treaties while paying homage to the pagoda.
These marble plaque chamber cetis were constructed by taking samples from the stone inscription chambers of Maha Kuthodaw pagoda in Mandalay.
In the Buddha Park where Maravijaya Buddha image is built, pilgrims can visit Muslinda lake and the Nagayon pagoda that are constructed by taking advices from Ovada Sariya Sayadaws in line with the Buddhist scriptures.
In addition, Thudhamma public rest houses, bridge, park and water fountain square were crowded with visitors taking a rest. Maravijaya monastery and Agga Dhipati Sasana Beikman were also teemed with pilgrims.
Well-wishers also donated fruit biryani to the monks and people from all parts of the country who made pilgrimage there. It is learnt that Maravijaya Buddha Image will be opened for public obeisance from 8th to 16th August at 6 am to 8 pm with free of charge.
