Nepal formulates an action plan with programs for sustainable Tiger conservation and reduce human-tiger conflict. The action plan aims to carry out programs for appropriate management interventions to conserve optimum number of tigers over the long term and to reduce human-tiger conflict.

This commitment was made at a program to mark the occasion of World Tiger Day on Saturday. Nepal gained world applause after it succeeded in increasing the number of tiger population as it pledged in the Tiger Summit held in Saint Petersburg in Russia in 2010.

But, with the increasing number of tigers in Nepal, significant challenges including their management, reducing human-tiger conflict, and ensuring their sufficient and secured interconnected habitats have become a challenge for sustainable conservation.
