





The 2nd State level monsoon tree planting ceremony 2023 was held in the compound of Maravijiya Buddha image that is being built in DekhhinaThiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on Friday.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min AungHlaing attended the ceremony and planted Linlun tree.
First, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister said that the tree planting ceremony is held with the aim at greeing in the Marawijaya Buddha park, to have peace of mind for the people who make pilgrimages to the buddha image, rich in biodiversity while long-term sustainable development of forest resources, to be favorable weather and beautifying and greening environment.
Maravijiya Buddha image is the tallest stone Buddha Statue out of the sitting Buddha Images in the world. The Prime Minister added that in the ceremony, a total of 2,181 trees of 12 kind of species such as Linlun, LumbiniIngyin and Gantgaw in the park for greening the environ.
He reiterated that the role of forests is very essential for the long-term development of the nation, food sufficiency of the people as well as being healthy and happy. Conservation measures will be undertaken for sustainable development of forests.
The Prime Minister called for conserving forests and trees for greening of all urban and rural areas across the nation, the environs and the world to be peaceful and pleasant and taking merits forever through the tree planting ceremony.
Later, the Senior General and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla planted Linlun tree at the designated place. After that, Vice Chairman of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Secretay of the SAC, Joint secretary, Council members and wives, Union Level personnels, Union Ministers, departmental officers and staffs, students from the University of Forest and Environmental Science and basic education schools planted saplings respectively.
After that, the Prime Minister and wife encouraged tree planting activities of the attendees who participated in the event.
