Cane ball Demonstration: Marking 70th Anniversary of MTCF

In commemoration of 70th Anniversary of Myanmar Traditional Chinlone (Cane ball) Federation, traditional cane ball playing demonstration was held at the Mindalar Thiri sports ground in Mandalay. The event was jointly conducted by Myanmar Traditional Chin Lone Federation and Mandalay Region Sports and Physical Education Department.

Thet Lwin ,Chairman ,Myanmar Traditional Chinlone Federation said " The Chin Lone Federation was emerged in 1960. The chin lone playing has been existed for about 1,500 years ago and it is a royal playing sports. The princes played the cane ball in the ancient time. Now, Waso cane ball competition kicks off in Mandalay. About 1000 teams participate in the Waso cane ball festival every year."
 
The event aimed to preserve the cane ball playing generations to generations while developing cane ball demonstration techniques in accord with the current trend. 9 cane ball teams participated in the cane ball playing demonstration.

Sa U ,Mandalay region said " As the Mandalay Region winning women’s team, we, six members participate in the cane ball playing demonstration. Among us, two are Myanmar selected cane ball players and remaining 4 are the cane ball players representing Mandalay region."

At the event, cane balls were presented as a gift to the participating teams and the commemorative gifts were also presented to traditional cane ball professional players aged 70 and above.
