Inviting Investments: Bago Region Investment Committee holds meeting

The Bago Region Investment Committee held its meeting (5/2023) at the Region Government Office on Friday. At the event, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win said that the region mainly carries out agriculture and livestock and it is prioritizing on development of MSMEs, promoting export goods and production of import-substitute goods based on agriculture and livestock products.

It needs to invite foreign investments for manufacturing farm equipment and fertilizers and to cooperate with relevant departments in line with the law. He also discussed on distributing information for operating investments to generate electric power that is the basic resource of industrial enterprises and making plan in cold storage factories construction breeding zones to export goods by producing value-added products in meat and fish sectors.

Later, Director of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration in Bago Region reported promoting investment, producing new items, further investment in machines, appointing more labour strength and the cases on extending construction period on which the committee members gave suggestions and the Chief Minister fulfilled the needs. From February 2021 to July 2023, over 179 million USD of foreign investment and over 7.5 billion kyats of Myanmar national investment have enteredBago region and it could create 8,596 job opportunities, it is learnt.
