Waso Robe offering: Ceremony held at Commander-in-Chief (Army) office

Families of Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) held the Waso robe offering ceremony 2023 at Anawrahta Hall of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) office on Wednesday with an attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.

First, the SAC Chairman Senior General paid homage to the Buddha image at Anawrahta Hall and offered food at the alms bowl, flowers, water and light. At the ceremony, the congregation received the Nine Precepts from Secretary of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Sandima Bivumsa.

They then listened to the parittas recited by Sayadaws. The Senior General and wife then donated Waso robes and offertories to Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayadaw. After that, SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe donated Waso robes and offertories to Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Sayadaw of Siho Pariyatti monastery in Kyaukme, Shan State Dr. Bhaddanta Sanda Nasara.

And then, the attendees and wives offered Waso robes and offertories to Sayadaws and monks. Presiding Sayadaw of Siho Pariyatti monastery delivered a sermon to the Senior General and wife and attendees and the congregation shared the merits gained.

After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife, the Vice-Senior General and wife and senior military officers offered day meals to members of the Sangha led by Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw.
