Visit to India: Union Minister discusses measures for Aadhaar system

At the invitation of the Indian Government, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, the Director General of Department of Electronic Identification and party left for New Delhi, India via Yangon International Airport on 24th July to cooperate in e-ID services between Myanmar and India.

At the airport lobby, Deputy Chief Mission of Indian Embassy in Myanmar Ms. Nabanita Chakrabarti received the Union Minister and party and explained about the trip and saw off them together with officials. The Union Minister and party arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India at 12 noon of local time and they were welcomed at the airport by Myanmar Ambassador to India and officials.

On the 25th, the Union Minister and party together with Myanmar Ambassador to India visited Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Headquarters of the Indian Government in New Delhi. There, the CEO of UIDAI and officials explained about formation of UIDAI, work process to achieve Aadhaar system and providing effective services to the Government, respective organizations and people with Aadhaar system through Power point presentation.

In his greeting remarks, the Union Minister said acknowledgment on the success of Aadhaar system of UIDAI in India, implementation of e-ID system of Myanmar and UIDAI to provide necessary recommendations on the work programs.

The Union Minister and party then asked about further work programs to be undertaken for the success of e-ID system and the CEO and the work in-charges replied according to the relevant sectors. The Union Minister and the CEO then exchanged commemorative gifts.
