Rehabilitation in Rakhine State: Senior military officials manage rehabilitation works

Senior military officers have been assigned in Rakhine State under Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law to oversee the progress of rehabilitation works in cyclone affected areas.

On the 17th of July, Lt-Gen Lu Aye from the Office of the Commander in Chief (Army) and departmental officials who are currently in Kyaukphyu Township attended “social pension granted ceremony for the elderly aged 85 and above” at the general administrator’s office of Kyaukphyu Township.

And the officials of the respective townships reported matters related on rehabilitation tasks and he gave necessary assistances. Similarly, Brigadier General Zaw Min Aye and departmental officials who are currently in Yanbyal Island attended the 3rd time foodstuffs donation ceremony in general administration department and donated foodstuffs to the people who avoid the storm.

In Maungdaw Township, Brigadier General Tin Swe and departmental officials attended and delivered an opening speech at the consumer goods production technology training course organized by the Department of Small Scale Industries in Thittaw village.

Then, he encouraged to the essay and poet competition of high school level and middle school level to pre-commemorate the 76th Martyr’s Day at No.2 B.E.H.S in Maungdaw Township. And he viewed round the booklet and photo booth to commemorate the 76th Martyr’s Day displayed by the Department of Information and Public Relations in Maungdaw district.
