Awareness Seminar: To accelerate public health care services in Rakhine

The Rakhine State Level awareness seminar to accelerate public health care services for strengthening basic health care was conducted at the sasana beikman in the compound of Lawkananda Pagoda in Sittway on Thursday.

At the seminar, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin said that in carrying out rehabilitation tasks regarding health sector in Rakhine State, it needs to carry out the tasks better than original condition. The health care services are being undertaken by relevant departments, social organizations and volunteer teams in cooperation with the Health Department. Now, it has been nearly two months after cyclone Mocha and all health care services can be operated regularly.

The health department can’t carry out alone public health care services and it is very important for the participation of relevant departments, partner and social organizations in undertaking the tasks. In raising public awareness, the role of young students is very important and it is necessary to nuture good habits for health to the students.

This seminar was held to accelerate public health care services with the supervision of the state government, to clarify priority tasks and to conduct awareness on the participation of relevant departments, partner and social organizations, private hospitals and clinics  in the public health care services.

He called on participating for improving health standard of the people in Rakhine State in order to strengthen public health care tasks. After that, official of Public Health Department reported on accelerating basic health care services in Rakhine State.

Later, the State Chief Minister and officials distributed vegetable biryani to the attendees. In the evening, the State Chief Minister and party looked loading and unloading of rice bags from the vessel at the Sittwe Multi-modal Transit Port, arrangements for distribution of supplies to be used in rescue and rehabilitation tasks and loading of transformers to be transported to Yangon and communication vehicles to the vessel and gave necessary instructions.
