Dhaka Conference : Challenges of Public Health discussed

At the invitation of the Bangladeshi government, Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khine Win attended the international conference on “Public Health and Diplomacy” at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Dhaka on Thursday.

Driving health agenda through diplomacy could help promote friendship among neighboring countries and regional countries while ensuring better preparation to health challenges, equitable access to medical countermeasures and supporting the development of public health. 

They exchanged views on antibiotic resistance and countermeasures by using One Health Approach method, interrelations between Human health, Animal health, and Environmental health and strategy to reduce global pandemic of COVID-19.

They also discussed the causes of chronic diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes, early detection, and referral to effective medication to mitigate the mortality rate.In the afternoon, Union Minister Dr Thet Khine Win and invited guests visited the Zinda community-based clinic where they observed the functions of free medical treatment to rural people.

They then signed in the distinguished visitors’ book. The conference ended with closing speeches by the Bangladesh Secretaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Health.
