








Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Monday inspected rehabilitation works along the ShuKhinTha Road in Sittwe Township.
The Senior General inspected the works around the View Point, heard reports on rehabilitation process and stressed that in carrying out the rehabilitation works, it is necessary to look at the long-term benefit of the region rather than the immediate financial costs before giving necessary instructions.
Also, at the multi-purpose port, he inspected discharging of relief aid to be transported to storm-affected areas. There, the Senior General also gave words of encouragement to members of the Myanmar Police Force and provided cash awards.
At the Rakhine State Government Office, the Senior General heard reports on rehabilitation process and highlighted that to restore Sittwe to a better state than the original state, all have to do what is necessary including transport sector and infrastructures.
Ensuring adequate food supply is the main focus of rehabilitation activities. Saltwater fish and shrimp farming, which has a certain market, needs to be carried out in stages. It is necessary to systematically manage the provision of supplies as determined by the level of damage.
For public health care, the necessary medicine and medical supplies will be provided by the state. Within two months after the storm ‘MOCHA’, some progress was made in the restoration work.
Regarding the buildings repair, it is necessary to repair the existing buildings and take action to make them resilient and sustainable in the event of a natural disaster that may occur in the future.
The Senior General also urged concerned officials to systematically and strictly implement the promotion of education. He also called for efforts to work together for the benefit of the region.
