As soon as we get the information, we go there and spray the disinfection in the area. In addition, medicine is sprayed on plants to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. The health workers alone cannot do these kinds of works in everywhere – we need the public participation. "

Dengue fever is an infectious disease spread by the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito. Dengue fever can occur at any age, especially between the ages of 5 and 9. 15 years and older can have a high death rate. Dengue can occur throughout the year, but especially during the rainy season.

If you are sick, you have to care yourself. We can defeat this disease. Not only health workers but also the public should take part in the preventive measures at their homes. I would like to urge everyone to perform the good practices at their homes to prevent the dengue outbreak."

The places with the highest incidence of dengue fever in Yangon Region are populated areas – South Dagon, Hlaingtharyar and Shwepyithar townships.
