SSSC 2023: Myanmar Won 2nd Prize in SSSC 2023 in Singapore

5 Students and a supervisor teacher from No.1, Basic Education High School Dagon who participated in the In-person Challenge of the SEAMEO-Singapore Students Challenge (SSSC) 2023 arrived back at the Yangon International Airport from Singapore on Tuesday evening and were welcomed by the parents and concerned officials.

The SSSC 2023 is organized by the Ministry of Education of Singapore collaborating with the Science Centre Singapore and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Secretariat (SEAMEO Secretariat) and students from 10 ASEAN countries participated in the competition.

Dr. Sandar Mya Nyein, Principal, No.1 BEHS Dagon said "I’m very proud of my students who did very well in the competition to achieve the 2nd prize. As they participated in the competition representing Myanmar, their achievement can raise not only the prestige of the school but also the prestige of the nation."

Aye Mya Thida, Teacher, No.1 BEHS Dagon said "Our students participated in SSSC 2023 along with the students from 10 ASEAN countries and won 2nd prize.  I would like to thanks to our students who tried their best in competition and our principle and responsible officials who supported us during the competition and SEAMEO Secretariat who invited us to participate in the competition."

Bhone Myat  Zaw, Grade-8, No.1 BEHS Dagon said "We got a lot of experiences and knowledge participating in SSSC 2023. We had to make a lot of preparations for the presentation.  I’m very grateful to receive 2nd prize representing Myanmar."

Shin Thant Kyaw, Grade-10, No.1 BEHS Dagon said "We got to explore more about science during the competition. We tried our best for the presentation. I’d like to encourage the students like us to participate in this kind of program if we have a chance because it can be proud of ourselves as well as of the school and the nation.The memories and experiences about the Singapore Science Center are unforgettable for us."

In SEAMEO-Singapore Students Challenge (SSSC) 2023 which was held from 4th to 8th July in Singapore, Indonesia won 1st Prize, Myanmar won 2nd Prize and Philippines won 3rd Prize respectively.
