2023 Waso Robe Offering Ceremony: VSG attends Leading Committee meeting

A Leading Committee for Organizing 2023 Waso Robe Offering Ceremony of the State Administration Council held its work coordination meeting at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

Patron of the Organizing Committee, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior-General Soe Win attended the ceremony and made a speech.

During his address, the Vice Senior General emphasized that the government is organizing the Waso Robe Offering Ceremony to preserve fine traditional customs while providing opportunities to offer morning and day meals to the Sayadaws and deliver health care services.

This year, the invitations will be extended to the Sayadaws from the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee, State Sangha Central Working Committee, Nay Pyi Taw Sangha Nayaka Committee, as well as the OvadaCariya Sayadaws of Uppada Sandhi Pagoda Board of Trustees and Chairmen Sayadaws of Township Sangha Nayaka Committee.  

The Vice Senior General urged all to ensure smooth and secure transportation and convenient accommodation for the Sayadaws. He also stressed the importance of implementing systematic measures to manage the entry of guests who will come to pay their respects, aligning with the COVID-19 preventive guidelines.

The Vice Senior General encouraged all respective sub-committees to cooperate and coordinate effectively for the successful implementation of their tasks. Organizing Committee Chairman Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Deputy Minister Nu Mra Zan and officials reported reported on the preparation measures taken for the successful organization of the ceremony. 

The Vice Senior General coordinated the necessary requirements and gave concluding remarks.
