El Nino likely to cause “surge” in global temperature says WMO

The head of regional climate prediction services at the World Meteorological Organization says during a press conference in Geneva that the weather phenomenon of El Nino is likely to 'surge' global temperatures this year.

El Nino is a naturally occurring climate pattern typically associated with increased heat worldwide, as well as drought in some parts of the world and heavy rains elsewhere.
