Myanmar Women’s Day Ceremony : Myanmar Women’s Day Ceremony was held in Taunggyi

Myanmar Women’s Day Ceremony was held at the City Hall of Taunggyi, Shan State (South) on 3rd July.

On the occasion, Chairperson of Shan State Women’s Committee Wife of the Shan State Chief Minister Daw Hnin Wai delivered an opening speech saying that it is being carried out to share knowledge on Women’s right and gender equality widely in ward and villages as the project of developing the women’s lives. Community-based trainings are opened by connecting with the vocational training schools for women to be able to learn the vocational skills. She urged all the women in Shan State to achieve gender equality and to develop the capabilities of young women.

Then, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye said that with the leading of Shan State Women’s Committee, improvement works of living status and security for women will be carried out effectively by cooperating with the civil society organizations. He urged the State, district and township committee members to cooperate and to carry out the knowledge sharing works to protect women from cyberbullying via online. Afterwards, Secretary of Shan State Women’s Committee, Director of State Office of Social Welfare Department U Zaw Min clarified on the protection and development works of women in Shan State.

Next, the State Chief Minister and Chairperson of Shan State Women’s Committee and officials presented awards to the outstanding women in Shan State. They then posed for documentary photo after watching the video clip sent by the department of social welfare (head office).
