Census Collecting: MOIP Union Minister held meeting in Mandalay

The Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing together with Central Committee member, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, attended the coordination meeting on collection of population data to e-ID server and list verification and timely completion of the Pan Khin project phase (2) at the meeting hall of Mandalay Region Government office on Saturday.

In his speech, Central Committee Chairman, Union Minister U Myint Kyaing said that it is important to be able to compile an accurate voter list to hold a free and fair multiparty democracy general election, which is the most important task among the five-point Road-Map.

In January 2023, door to door collecting of population data are being carried out on a nationwide scale to get accurate population lists for correct voters list, verification of collected statistics and ground census and registration to e-ID server via online.

According to the ground survey in Mandalay Region, more than 1.6 million with household lists, more than 270,000 without the existing household lists have been collected with e-ID Software as of 26th of June 2023.

Moreover, the list of 5 types of disabilities was handed over to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. He added that efforts have to be made for registration to e-ID server and compiling the accurate population data.

Through Pan Khin Project, efforts are being made for issuance of relevant identity cards for those who don’t have the household lists and national registration card in accordance with the law. He urged all to strive for timely completion of Pan Khin project which is necessary to be carried out within the specified period.

After that, the Chief Minister and officials clarified about the collection of ground population data in Mandalay Region, filling information into e-ID Server and implementation for timely completion of Pan Khin Project (phase-2). After that, the Union Minister coordinated the needs based on the reports and urged all to make concerted efforts.
