Paraguayans dressed in banana leaves celebrate Saint Peter and Paul festival

Generation after generation, Paraguayans of the small town Altos, near the capital city Asuncion, celebrated and recreated the attacks of the indigenous Guaycurues on Latin populations at the time of the conquest. The Kamba ra'anga (the image of the mulattoes) is a traditional festival in honor of St. Peter and St. Paul with fire, costumes made of dried banana leaves and masks made of cloth or carved and painted wood.
