Honouring Ceremony: Bago Region Gov’t honours winning athletes

Honouring ceremony for the athletes from Bago Region who got medals in the 12th ASEAN Para Games and South East Asian Tennis Tournament was held at the Town Hall in Bago Region on Tuesday with the attendance of the Regional Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win. First, the Region Chief Minister expressed words of congratulations to these athletes for winning 7 gold, 5 silver and 12 bronze medals, altogether 24 in the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

4 athletes representing Bago Region competed in the U-12 South East Asian Tennis Tournament which was held in Brunei and the men’s team won the third place and the women’s team won the second place. He also urged the athletes to make efforts to get more success in the coming sports competitions and to uplift the prestige of the State and Region with the sports sector.

He also pledges to provide assistance for the needs. Then, the Regional Chief Minister and wife and officials presented awards to the athletes who got medals in the 12th ASEAN Para Games and U-12 South East Asian Tennis Tournament respectively. Myanmar won 56 medals in the 12th ASEAN Para Games and 24 of them were grabbed by the athletes from Bago Region.
