Meeting on Transnational Crime : ASEAN Senior Officials meet in Indonesia

Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Chief of the Police Force Maj-Gen Aung Aung joined the 23rd ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crime and Its Related Meetings in Yogyakarta of Indonesia.

The meeting on the 20th and 21st of June focused on violence in the ASEAN region, human trafficking, drug crimes, money laundering,  development of cyber crime and the situation of prevention and suppression measures.

The 20th SOMTC + China Consultation on the 22nd June discussed implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (2017-2023) and Action Plan (2019-2023) on Combating Non-Traditional Security Issues and plans to develop a new plan to be implemented in 2024-2028.

Separate discussions were also made with partner countries (China, Japan, Korea) and Australia, Canada, European Union, India, New Zealand and the United States for cooperation in the fight against transnational crime in the region and approved 4 plans.
