








The commemorative talk on international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was held at the Institute of Sports and Physical Education, Yangon on 24th of June.
The event was jointly organized by the Myanmar Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Association (Central), Myanmar Women's Affairs federation, Information and Public Relations dept., Rehabilitation camp (Yangon) and Sub Anti-Drug Elimination Taskforce.
Chairman, MDARA (Central), San Shein said "This drug awareness event is to mark the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking which falls on 26th of June. We could not hold such kind of event starting from 2018 till now due to various circumstances. I hold this event for the parents and children to gain some sort of knowledge about drugs through our event and by distributing our pamphlets to the students who cannot join our event, they happened to know about it."
The Myittar San Eaindrug rehab center was founded for the rehabilitation process, said the chairman of Myanmar Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Association (Central).
Deputy Director, Drug-Quitters Rehabilitation Camp (Yangon), Khin Swe Hlaing said "There are many consequences of using drugs. It can be harmful not only for the users but for everyone in the surrounding. It is pretty much dangerous more than I can say. We are giving rehabilitation services for those who have done quitting the drugs. At the concerned hospitals or clinics approved by the government, we perform rehab services for them at least 2 weeks under the recommendations of the doctors."
On the actual day of 26th June, formal message reading event, drug burning event, essays, painting and cartoon competitions and prize awarding event will be held at the relevant departments.
