Agricultural Sector: MoALI Union Minister inspected cotton experimental farms

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung made a ground inspection of experimental plantation of 8 cotton strains of Uzbekistan at the cotton research and technical development farms including Shwe Taung farm in Wantwin Township and Lunkyaw farm in Kyaukse in the morning on 21st June and the responsible officials explained as per the plots of experimental plantation.

Regarding with the clarifications, the Union Minister instructed to keep the daily, weekly and monthly record from the day of experimental growing to the day of harvesting and implement for the farmers to use the beneficial strains depending on the strength and weakness.

According to the growth of plants, although 6 cotton strains have the good potential and needed to special care due to their weakness in infection resistance.

Next, the Union Minister U Min Naung inspected the training course for technical transferring to farmers, capacity building training for the personnel of the department and the laboratory operations at Post Harvest Technology Training Center in Patheingyi Township of Mandalay Region and gave necessary instructions to the responsible officials of the training center and the trainees.

In the evening, the Union Minister and party visited Pyin Oo Lwin Coffee Garden and inspected preparations for the people to visit the coffee garden and observe knowledge on coffee.
