




The 30 days charity feast catering at cyclone affected areas in Rakhine State has been extended another 3 more days.
Starting from 30th May, SKY NET for People, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association (Rakhine State), Myanmar-China Buddhism and Cultural Exchange Association, Myanmar-India-China International Cooperation & Economic Development Association, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Public Co., Ltd and Multi Religious Friends jointly organized the daily donation of charity feast for over 10,000 people for 30 days.
Regarding with the extension of 3 more days for catering, the Charity Feast Management Committee Chairman explained.
Chairman, Charity Feast Management Committee, Khin Maung Aye said "By extending 3 more days on 29tha and 30th of June and 1st of July, we are going to continue the charity feast which is planned to make 30 days before. When the well-wishers came and donated for these cyclone victims in person, their spirit of generosities are getting higher and the days of donations come to extend. "
Including Sittwe Township, the charity feast team made donations in the cyclone hit townships of Rathedaung, Mrauk-U, Buthidaung and Ponnagyun as well. The charity feast has been going to the local residents, departmental personals and those who are making rehabilitation works. Instead of previous plan to cater vegetable biryani daily, the alternative meals such as chickpea rice, buttered rice, local tradition of leaf packed rice with various curries preferred by the local residents are being catered.
Chairman, Charity Feast Management Committee, Khin Maung Aye said "For 30 days of charity feast, we planned to cater vegetable biryani and rice and curry boxes every other day for 15 days each. But to be better meals for the local residents, we are cooking vegetable biryani, buttered rice, chickpea rice and the spicy curry of dried fish with potato which is prefered by Rakhine nationals, and we cater different meals on each day."
During 24 days of charity feast till 22nd of June, over 300,000 people have been catered and that donation is going to be continued to get full of 33 days.
