Regional Meeting :MOST Union Minister attends 12th AMMSTI in Brunei

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw arrived at Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei Darussalam on 21st June to attend the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation (AMMSTI).

In the morning, the Union Ministers and party visited the University Technology Brunei – UTB and they were welcomed by the Vice-chair of the University Dr. Hajah Ena. He then explained the university information, teaching and learning systems and research activities of the University. They then viewed around the university including classrooms, library, laboratories, workshops and research rooms.

Later, both sides cordially discussed about the matters relating to teaching and research collaboration between UTB and Technological Universities from Myanmar. In the evening, the Union Minister attended the dinner hosted by the Alternative Chairman of the 12th AMMSTI, Union Minister for Transport and Communication of Brunei, together with the ministers from ASEAN member states.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology and party, who accompanied the Union Minister’s trip, attended the 83rd Meeting of ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation and related meetings.

They discussed the matters on human resource development and collaborative aspects of surveys in ASEAN region to be submitted to the 12th AMMSTI meeting.
