






The renovation works for the Government Technical High School (Sittwe) damaged by the cyclonic storm “Mocha” hit Rakhine State have completed at 70% on 17th June, said, the in-charge of renovation works of GTHS .The In-Charge explained the status of renovating Government Technical High School.
Renovation In-Charge, Ko Thet Oo Htin said “From the initial stages like removing debris and cleaning steps to roof repairing works for the Government Technical High School (Sittwe) has started on 23rd May 2023, and the renovation works now completed nearly 75%.”
In the Government Technical High School (Sittwe), there are 18 buildings which needed repairing of roof and the buildings placed in priority of renovation have completed at 100%.There are 12 buildings completed and those are the buildings of classrooms, dormitories for the students, faculty and staff housings.
According to the in-charge of renovation works of GTHS, the remained buildings to be repaired the roof will be completed at 100% within a week when the construction materials transported by the association arrive.
Renovation In-Charge, Ko Thet Oo Htin said “To be able to complete 100%, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Public Co., Ltd is being transported the necessary construction materials from Yangon. We are going to carry out the roof repairing works to complete 100% within a week as soon as the construction materials arrive.”
The tearing off the roof, peeling of the galvanized iron sheets and falling down of ceiling took place at almost every school building of the Technical High School due to the very severe cyclonic storm "Mocha" made landfall on 14th May. The Myanmar Licensed Contractors Public Co., Ltd is undertaking the rehabilitation and reconstruction works of the Government Technical High Schools (Sittwe).
