Education Sector: Private Education Law Clarification

In 2023-2024 Academic Year, the State Administration Council Law No. 50/2023 Private Education Law clarification was held at the Bago City Hall in Bago Township on 16th June.

Soe Lwin (Director), Bago Regional Education Office said "Private Schools Registration Law enacted in 2011 and the law has 8 Chapters and the Private Schools Registration Procedures enacted in 2012 April. Now, Private Education Law enacted but the Procedure is not enacted. The new Private Education Law has 16 Chapters. So, this new law is more extensive. The purpose of holding today's event is to know the founders and administrators of private services in my region about the new Private Education Law. There are 144 schools in the Bogo Region."

In this new law, there is a regional Supervisory board for private education. The Chief Minister appointed a minister acts as the chairman of the regional supervisory board, and the regional education director participates as the secretary. In addition, the Rector, Principals of Vocational Education, Director of Labor Department and the director of the regional health department will also participate. It will be supervised by all departments, not just the education department.
