Economic Forum: Myanmar delegation in Russia

Deputy Prime Minister, Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein attended the third-day session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023 in the Russian Federation on June 16th.

During his attendance, the Deputy Prime Minister met with Mr. Denis Butsayev, the General Director of Russian Environmental Operator and party.

They discussed matters related to preventing impacts that could damage human health and the environment, recycling waste to generate energy, developing a waste management system, and cooperating on projects to differentiate waste items in Myanmar.

Later, the Deputy Prime Minister met with the Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council to discuss economic cooperation between Russia and ASEAN member states and promote bilateral trade and investments.

In the afternoon, the Deputy Prime Minister and his party attended the Plenary Session of the 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023.

During the session, the Presidents of Russia and Algeria delivered opening speeches and discussed the current progress in the world. The forum was attended by over 17,000 guests from 130 countries.
