




Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win who is currently in Sittwe of Rakhine State together with officials attended a ceremony to provide rice to health staff at the Sittwe General Hospital on 15th June.
On the occasion, the Union Minister said that as arrangements for the healthcare workers in advance before cyclone happen in accord with the guidance of the National Disaster management committee, it caused less damage to health infrastructure and machines.
In addition, he added that the rapid response teams which were comprised in advance to provide healthcare services to the townships of Rakhine State. He reiterated that efforts for public health services should be made to prevent diarrhea and dengue fever and to enhance the medical infrastructures and treatment method and he stressed that if the staff work together, any difficulties can be overcome.
After that, the Union Minister provided rice to the staff of relevant departments. On behalf of the staff, a staff officer of public health department expressed words of thanks.And then, the Union Minister and party proceeded to Sittwe Nursing and Midwifery Training school and they inspected the situation of school building and encouraged the students.
Furthermore, the Union Minister and officials arrived at Sittwe Township Traditional Medicine Hospital and inspected progress of renovation of the building and fulfilled the needs.
