Inspection tour: Offices damaged by cyclone in Sittwe inspected

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspected rehabilitation tasks of the Rakhine State and Sittwe district Information and Public Relations department (IPRD) offices, MRTV relay station and self-printing house (Sittwe) damaged by cyclone Mocha on 15th June.

At the meeting hall of district IPRD office, the Union Minister met with officials and staff of the department and provided cash assistance.The Union Minister then arrived at MRTV relay-station where in-charge of the station reported on the damages and transmission status.

The Union Minister then fulfilled the needs and provided cash assistance for the staff. Next, the Union Minister looked into the damage of 100-m Self Supporting Tower and completed construction of new 30-m Guyed Tower.

At the self-printing house, officials reported on measures for operating the tasks regularly. Upon the reports of officials, the Union Minister instructed the needs and provided cash assistance.

During the meeting with the staffs, the Union Minister said it is necessary to reports the news on the rehabilitation tasks in a timely manner and to repair the damaged buildings by Mocha storm rapidly. He added that arrangements will be made for renovating the buildings for people and machines to be safe and to run the works in normal as quickly as possible.
