






Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi met with Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and officials at the meeting hall of the Mandalay Regional Government Office on Wednesday.
At the meeting, they discussed matters on extended breeding of dairy cattle, production of dairy and related products, increasing meat production, establishment of livestock zone for the development of MSMEs based on livestock and disseminating the livestock breeding technology to the breeders.
They also discussed leadership of the regional government in conducting field trip for prevention and treatment measures of animal diseases and cooperation of relevant departments.
Then, the Deputy Minister and party went to Shwe Ohn and Sun Day Dairy Cattle Farms in Kularmataung and Shwe Nyein Chan Thar Village in Pathein Gyi Township. They inspected the cultivation of animal feeds, process of milk production and market condition, and gave necessary instructions.
After that, the Deputy Minister inspected fish farming and research processes at the Tayat Kone Livestock Research Station under the Department of Livestock and Aquaculture Research in Aung Myay Thazan Township.
During the inspection, the Deputy Minister instructed for development of sustainable and inclusive livestock production system that can keep abreast with international standard, ensuring food security through the livestock research works, promoting the socio economic life of farmers and rural people, boosting production and exports of livestock and fisheries products to increase foreign income, and producing and distribution of pure native breeds sufficiently.
