






The honouring ceremony for athletes from Tanintharyi Region who won medals in the 32nd SEA Games was held at the Regional Government office in Dawei on 12th June.
On the occasion, Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko said that winning medals in the SEA Games can not only promote the prestige of the country but that of the region also. He also urged the athletes to make efforts to achieve more success in the upcoming 33rd SEA Games which will be held in Thailand in 2025.
And, the Regional Government, Regional Women’s Affairs Association and Maternal and Child Welfare Association presented honourary cash awards to the athletes.
During the 32nd SEA Games held from 5th to 17th May 2023, there were altogether five athletes selected from Tanintharyi Region including one woman athlete each for Vovinam (Khonbokatar), Judo and volleyball events and two women athletes for boxing event.
They won one gold and one silver medals in Vovinam, one silver medal in Judo and two bronze medals in boxing.
