Rehabilitation in Rakhine State: Healthcare services, donation and transport works Title

Specialist crops of the Ministry of Defence and Western Region Military Command as well as local medical teams and health workers from the Department of Public Health are providing health care services to the local people in the storm-affected areas of Rakhine State in designated areas.

On June 11, a special medical team comprising physicians, specialists, paramedics and nurses from the Ministry of Defence provided necessary treatment to people affected by the storm in Sittwe Township's Maung Ni Pyin Village and the surrounding areas.

Lt-General Phone Myat from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and responsible personals visited and encouraged the patients.

There, he also participated in the vegetable biryani donation by the SKY NET for People, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association (Rakhine State), Myanmar-China Buddhism and Cultural Exchange Association, Myanmar-India-China International Cooperation & Economic Development Association, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Public Co., Ltd and Inter-Faith Friendship Organization.

Also, Lt-General Phone Myat and members supervised cleaning up tree branches fallen by the storm “Mocha”. They also inspected vessels carrying construction materials to be used in the rehabilitation works to arrive in the designated areas in an orderly manner.
