Pagoda Renovation Works: Kachin State CM attends cash donation ceremony

The cash donation ceremony for raising high and all-round renovation works for the Karsamani Thaylar Hman Pya Taung pagoda, was held at Maha Sasana Beikman in the precinct of An-Taw-Shin pagoda compound with the collective donation led by Mongnar Sayadaw and locals in Waimaw township, Kachin State on 8th June.

At the ceremony, the congregation led by the Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and wife observed five precepts administered by the presiding Sayadaw of Wun Tho monastery and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha.

Next, State Minister for Social Affairs supplicated the religious matters regarding the all-round renovation works for the pagoda and then State Chief Minister and attendees offered donation items to the Sayadaws and Sanghas.

After that, State Chief Minister and officials donated over 16.7 million kyats and 1,080 cement bags for the raising of the pagoda from the previous height of 13.5 feet to 54 feet  and all-round renovation works for the pagoda. Then, they returned certificates of honour to the well wisher and shared the merits gained.

Afterwards, the State Chief Minister attended the Fresher Welcoming and Opening Ceremony of Pre-Primary Teachers Training Course No.9/23 at Myitkyika Education Degree Collage and delivered a speech.

Next, the principal of the collage explained about the aim of training course and rules to be followed. The State Chief Minister then provided 1 million kyats of cash assistance for the PPTT course.

On the same day, the State Chief Minister also viewed and encouraged the departmental personnel from Township Development Committe who are cleaning the plastic garbage from Sonbarabon Road to Bala Min Htin Bridge in Myitkyina.
