Technical Seminar: Condition of Ayeyawady river route

A technical seminar on irrigated water supply by using water resources of Ayarwaddy River and salient points of Ayeyawady River for the swift flow of river route was held at the Ministry of Electric Power in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han and departmental officials, Patron and Chairman of Myanmar National Committee on Large Dams (MNCOLD) and committee members and officials of Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister urged attendees to give technical advices on condition of Ayeyawady water way for the irrigation and swifter flow of river route, the water level and depth, current  speed, water flowing rate, silting  and slope condition according to the studies on the Ayarwaddy River. 

Then, the attendees discussed about maintenance works in the Ayeyawaddy River which can affect the environment and society, plans to cooperate with international engineering consulting organizations, to study the earthquake and fault line conditions along and near the river, to carry out  reconnaissance study, pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, detail design, project cost estimation, financial analysis and other related matters.
