Cash donation: Cash donation for renovation of monastic schools in Sittwe

The cash donation ceremony of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture for the renovation of teaching halls of the monastic schools in Sittwe was held on Monday.

The ceremony was graced by Sayadaws led by Secretary of Rakhine State Monastic School Supervisory Committee Principal Sayadaw of Shwe Zedi monastic school in Sittwe Dr. Buddhanta Ariya Wuntha, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Myo Thant, Dr Thet Thet Khine, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Deputy Ministers and departmental officials.

The congregation took the Five Precepts from Principal Sayadaw and abbot of monastic school education Post Primary School Buddhanta Nyanna and Sayadaws recited parittas.

Later, the Union Ministers, the State Chief Minister and the deputy ministers donated offertories for 7 monastic education schools in Sittwe and cash for renovation of teaching halls of the monstic schools and shared the merits gained. It was followed by the cash donation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture for the damaged monastic schools by cyclone Mocha.

In the ceremony, a total of 120 million kyats were donated for 7 monastic schools in Sittwe and about 1,555 students are learning education in the schools for 2023-2024 academic year. Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and party then attended cash and kind donation ceremony for rehabilitation of cyclone-affected areas held at the Rakhine State Government Office.

At the event, a well-wisher presented medicines worth 5 million kyats contributed by the Lucky Asia International Co.,Ltd to Union Minister DrThet Thet Khine.

After that, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Union Ministers and party attended a regular meeting for the natural disaster rehabilitation at the Rakhine State Government office.

At the meeting, officials of respective committees and deputy ministers reported on progress of rehabilitation tasks, completion and future plans.

In response to the reports, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung called for carrying out sanitation tasks with full strength for beautying of Sittwe, placing enough garbage cans and conducting awareness on systematic trash throwing to locals and coordinated the needs on rehabilitation tasks.
