







BhamoSayadawDrBhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa, Chairman of the State SanghaMahaNayaka Committee, 94 years old, vasa 74, peacefully passed away at Bhamo Monastery in MahaAungMyay Township in Mandalay on 25 May. The remains of the late Sayadawwas kept at the Bhamo monastery for worshipping.
Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win together with the SAC members, Union Minister for Religious Affairs U KoKo, the Mandalay Region Chief Minister and senior military officials paid homage to the body of the late Sayadaw on Monday.
After paying the late Sayadaw, the Deputy Prime Minister and party paid homage to Sayadaws and monks led by Mandalay Ma Soe Yein monastery Presiding SayadawBuddhantaWahThaeHtarBhiwuntha and supplicated plans for the final rites of the late Sayadaw and coordinated the needs.
The Deputy Prime Minister and party then took the Five Precepts from the Presiding Sayadaw of Ma SoeYein Monastery Sayadaw and donated offertories to members of the Sangha and shared the merit gained. Led by Sayadaws, the Deputy Prime Minister and attendees recited Sanwaiga Gatha.
After that the Deputy Prime Minister and party donated day meal to Sayadaws and monks. The Deputy Prime Minister and party then observed arrangements for the final rites event of late Sayadaw, preparations along the way to convey the body of late Sayadaw, arrangements for cremation ceremony, construction of crematorium building and arrangements for holding the ceremony to drift relics and fulfilled the needs.
The final rites event of late Sayadaw will be broadcast live on MRTV HD Channel, MRTV Farmers’ Channel, MRTV Parliament Channel, MWD HD Channel, MWD Variety HD Channel, Maha Bodhi Channel and Buddha Channel on 6th June starting 2 p.m. and the drifting ceremony of relics on 7th June starting 5:30 a.m.
