






The 2022-2023 annual work coordination meeting of the Department of Rural Development and the ceremony of presenting excellent awards were held at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 5th of June and the Union Minister U Hla Moe gave a speech.
In his speech, the Union Minister U Hla Moe said the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development is implementing to narrow the development gap between the urban and rural areas and prioritized the comprehensive rural development for the socio-economic development of the rural population.
In addition to the main responsibilities of the Ministry such as development of cooperative sector, small scale industries and development of infrastructure in rural areas, providing inputs for the agriculture and livestock sector, inputs including finance and implementing solar power water pumping for the oil crops cultivation, carrying out the agriculture and livestock breeding with State Economic Promotion Fund, developing contract farming system with the collaboration of relevant departments and private entrepreneurs.
Next, the Director General of the Department of Rural Development U Thein Lwin clarified the completion of work implementation and the plans to be carried out.
Then, the Head Officers of Regions and States Department of Rural Development explained the ongoing implementing regional development works, status of completion.
Permanent Secretary U Khant Zaw discussed reviewing the reports of the Head Officers of Regions and States department and the director generals of relevant departments clarified the status of cooperation among the departments and plans to be carried out.
Then, the Union Minister U Hla Moe and officials awarded the excellent prizes to the regions and states head officers, village committee members, personnel who won the outstanding prizes at the trainings opened at Civil Service Academy (upper and lower Myanmar).
