







A ceremony to commemorate the International Museum Day was held on Saturday morning at the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) with the attendance of Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko.
Speaking at the occasion, the Union Minister highlighted the crucial role of the museums in development of ethical culture and society and clarified the decisions of International Council of Museums (ICOM), Kyoto 2019, work implementations for sustainable development of the museums, implementations of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2023 theme of International Museum Day: “Museums, Sustainability and Well-being”.
Then, the Chairman of Myanmar Museum Committee and the Director General of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum clarified the purpose of holding the commemoration ceremony for the International Museum Day.
Then, the Union Minister viewed the special environmental conservation exhibition displayed there. It was followed by a paper reading session in commemoration of International Museums Day.
A total of 6 speakers participated in paper reading session and the Deputy Director General of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum made discussions, concerning the research papers.
Then, the Director General of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum gave a closing speech and presented honorary gifts to the speakers.
