Rehabilitation Works: Relief and rehabilitation measures in Rakhine State

Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister, Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San, together with Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, on Saturday, inspected the clearing works along Kyaunggyi and Min Bar Gyi Streets in Sittwe.

They instructed to make cooperative works for cleaning and beautifying works of the city. They then proceeded to Phaungtawgyi Jetty and viewed the loading process of relief items to the vessels and vehicles to be distributed to the cyclone affected areas.

They also inspected the repairing works along Strand Road, by Sittwe District Road Department under the Ministry of Construction and distribution of charity feast by the donors along and Min Bar Gyi Streets.

On arrival at Kywie Tae Village, they oversaw the providing health care services by the specialists from Sittwe People’s Hospital and 50-bed Sittwe Traditional Medicine Hospital.

In meeting with local villagers, they asked after the conditions of education, health, economy and transportation matter and provided rice and foodstuffs.

At Rakhine State Government Office, Admiral Tin Aung San accepted the 30 million kyats cash assistance, donated for cyclone affected areas.

In the afternoon, the Deputy Prime Minister and party visited the shops, selling electronic equipment, construction materials, utensils and basic foodstuffs with reasonable price for the convenience of the cyclone hit people and departmental staff.

They then inspected the unloading of multipurpose tractors to be used in the development projects, provided by the Mechanized Farming Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation at Phaungtawgyi Jetty.

They later met with the volunteers who took part in charity feast distribution for the cyclone hit people, and provided consumers and foodstuffs.
