






A plane from the Malaysia Airlines carrying more than 19 tons of emergency relief aid worth over 72,000 US dollars provided by ASEAN countries for the areas in Myanmar affected by cyclone MOCHA arrived at Yangon International Airport on Thursday.
It’s the 4th relief aid from the ASEAN countries to Myanmar after MOCHA – the relief aid will be transported to the storm-affected areas through the officials of the ASEAN Coordination Department and the Department of Natural Disaster Management Center of Yangon Region Government.
Than Soe,Director,Dept. of Natural Disaster Management said"This is the 7th flight which carried emergency relief aid provided by the ASEAN countries through the AHA Center. We are also receiving donations from local people, private organizations and governmental departments. We’ve been transporting the aid to the storm-affected areas under the guidance of the government."
Through the AHA Center, the ASEAN countries will provide relief aid to Myanmar for more 15 times. It’s reported that most of the relief aid are provided by Thailand, China, India and Russia.
